U.S. international political strategy is topic of Grayson Kirk Lecture
Barry R. Posen, the Ford International Professor of Political Science at MIT and an author, will address the flaws in the United States' long-term international political strategy and offer suggestions at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Wilks Theater in the Armstrong Student Center.

The role of family in end-of-life planning and bereavement is topic of Whelpton Lecture
Deborah Carr, professor of sociology with the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy and Aging Research at Rutgers University, will present the 2015 P.K. Whelpton Memorial Lecture. The lecture will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, in 180 Marcum Center.

In memoriam: Beatriz S. D’Ambrosio

Miami Hamilton's Colligan History Project partners with Mad Anthony Theatre Company
The Michael J. Colligan History Project will be partnering with the Mad Anthony Theatre Company at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts to sponsor a series of three plays, each touching on different aspects of American history. In advance of these performances, the Colligan series “Staging the Past” comprises three original public events exploring the historical context for each play.

Homecoming contest brings in 249 pounds of canned food
The first office homecoming decorating contest and food drive was held last week. The overall winner - the Oxford Community Choice Pantry - will receive 249 pounds of canned food.
