Course Information

Participants may elect to take EDL 699I: Student Affairs Practice in Europe for three (3) graduate credit hours or as a non-credit workshop earning CEUs. It is expected that ALL program participants, regardless of whether or not they are taking the course, will participate in pre-departure orientations, preliminary readings, discussions, and be full and active participants while abroad. Those participating for credit will be expected to meet all of the aforementioned criteria, plus complete a final project.

A note to non-Miami University graduate students: One option to make this study tour more affordable is for you to register for the non-credit workshop option with Miami (see Program Cost). Then, you could use this study tour as the basis of an independent project or even part of a practicum experience that you do for credit through your own graduate program. Of course, this option is one that must be agreeable to your faculty! It is the responsibility of each student to acquire this approval from your graduate academic adviser.

“The European Study Tour afforded me the opportunity to question my foundational assumptions about higher education. By interacting with our European counterparts and students, I discovered new ways to see my role as a student affairs professional, methods of teaching and learning, and the values inherent in the profession."
