Scholarships

Miami University receives applications for admission from international undergraduate students from more than 60 countries around the world. In order to recognize these academically talented students and attract them to our university community, we provide a limited number of merit-based International Education Scholarships. These renewable scholarship awards (available only to degree candidates who will be in F-1 or J-1 status while enrolled at Miami) range in values of up to $10,000 per year. Because the number of scholarship awards is limited, most recipients have outstanding academic records and test scores (if applicable). Although financial need is not considered for these merit-based awards, the International Education Scholarships do enable many international students with modest financial need to attend and graduate from Miami.

All eligible international undergraduate applicants who complete their application by January 31 for fall semester (which starts in August) or November 1 for spring semester (which starts in January) are considered for an International Education Scholarship. However, scholarships may not always be available to students entering in a spring semester. Although consideration for an International Education Scholarship does not require a separate application, all applicants who wish to enroll at Miami as F-1 or J-1 students must complete the Confidential Financial Statement in the Application for Undergraduate International Students and submit supporting financial documentation.

International undergraduate first-year applicants who submit official SAT or ACT scores may also be considered for a variety of the merit-based scholarships offered by Miami's Office of Student Financial Assistance.
