The Cincinnati and Dayton airports are the two major facilities located within the shortest distance to Oxford (approximately one hour). Ticket prices vary, however, so be sure to check for cheapest fares. Several travel agencies in Oxford provide personalized service.


Airport Shuttles and Taxi Service

Airport Shuttle Service
Serving all airports 24 hours, 513-896-6605. Oxford to Cincinnati or Dayton Airport: $75 single; $60 each for two to four; $50 each for five or more. Midnight to 6 a.m. additional $10, $3 surcharge in some cases. Call for other airport pricing.

Empire Transportation
Fairfield, OH, 24-hour transportation to all airports, 513-860-3324. From Miami University to Cincinnati or Dayton airports, $95 + gratuity for one traveler. Up to 10 travelers can ride for one-time charge of $95 + gratuities. We provide transportation to doctor's appointments or any needed transportation. We provide a full line of limousines, GMC shuttle van, Cadillacs, Mercedes, and Hybrid Toyota Camry.

Miami Metro Shuttle Service
To major airports for Thanksgiving break, Winter break, and Spring break. Buses leave from Shriver Center. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Miami University Box Office in Shriver Center or by phone at 513-529-3200. One-way tickets to Cincinnati or Dayton $27.50; Columbus or Indianapolis $47.50. Providing transportation in and out of Oxford, 24/7 by appointment, shopping and to all hospitals and doctor's offices, to and from all AIRPORT, BUS, AND TRAIN transportation: $75 single; $55 each for two; $50 each for three; $45 each for four or more. (Transportation costs to/from airports include Cincinnati and Dayton airports only; additional charges are incurred for transportation to/from all other airports.) A $4 gas surcharge is also added to each fare. Traveling 10:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. requires an extra $10 per person.

Charter Bus Service to Major Cities

Certain private companies offer bus services to Miami students to regional cities. Miami does not have any relationship with these companies, and it does not endorse their use. All such travel is at the traveler's own risk, and Miami does not assume any responsibility or liability for such services.

Miami University Student Foundation (MUSF) Chicago Bus Trip Charters
Bus service to Chicago area for Fall break (October), Thanksgiving break, Winter break, February 3-day break, and Spring break. The Miami pick-up and drop-off location is on the south side of Cook Field. Bus stops in Chicago are located along the Tri-State Tollway: Lincoln Oasis, Hinsdale Oasis, O'Hare Oasis, Lake Forest Oasis, and Kenosha. Tickets are $95 round trip; space is limited. Megabus.com
This low-cost, daily express bus service operates out of Cincinnati. Buses depart from 4th and Race St. downtown. For reservations, call 877-462-6342 Monday–Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. (CST), Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. (CST).


Train Service

Amtrak
1-800-USA-RAIL, no direct service to Oxford. Stations are located in the following cities:

  • Hamilton: Martin Luther King Blvd. and Henry St., Hamilton, OH 45012
  • Cincinnati: 1301 Western Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45203
  • Connersville, IN: 1012 Eastern Ave., Connersville, IN 47331

Ride Share/Ride Board

The Associated Student Government's online Ride Board as well as the bulletin board located on the lower level of the Shriver Center (near the ATM machines) advertises rides needed and rides offered by students.

Getting Around Campus

Miami Metro
In addition to motor vehicles and bicycles, students get around campus using the Miami Metro bus service, which also provides transportation uptown and to several off-campus student housing areas. The buses run daily during fall and spring semesters. See Parking and Metro Maps for routes and scheduled hours of operation.

Nighttime Door-to-Door (NDD)
Established for the protection of students after dark, the NDD service provides a safe escort for persons traveling alone during evening hours, operating until 4 a.m. most days of the week. Students can call 529-2277 for this service.

Access Miami
Access Miami provides transportation for students with disabilities. During fall and spring semesters, Access Miami provides door-to-door transportation around campus and in the Oxford area. Call 529-2277 to access this service, which operates 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the week, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
